1  All-Terrain Mowchine Setup / Engine, Driveline & Braking / Craftsman GT6000 broken piston help on: December 07, 2012, 08:20:13 PM
I have a 80's craftsman gt6000 (I think) and it dropped a cylinder. Pretty sure the piston fell apart somewhere. Anyways, does anyone have any information on how to disassemble this motor properly. I'm not sure what brand the motor is but its a two cylinder with one carb on the top. Might possibly be a Kohler. I remember taking a Kohler apart a few years ago for the exact same problem. The whole thing fell apart while I was opening the case, I don't want that to happen to this one. I really don't want to scrap this mower, I really like it. Any information would be helpful.

I finally picked up a lawnmower frame, I guess this will be the best place to start and build around it. Its a new(but old) mtd style I think its called a yard machine.
(I took all the mower deck junk off)

Bored with my troy bilt.

I got a rear end on it and I got most of the front end welded up last night. I think it'll hold up for awhile.

Im not sure the name of the rear end but it came off a yard machine mtd. Can someone help me identify it?

I was wondering if someone could explain to me how far you could get a lawnmower into a creek or river without flooding it out?
What would you have to do if it did get flooded out?
Im mainly just trying to figure out the limitations on a stock mower.
And maybe some additional info if anyone has experience with this.

Whats up? here.
Definitely  a computer guy, been using computers since I was 11, built my first one when I was 15. Just trying to take what I know about computers and merge it with ATVS and lawnmowers. There's not much I can do with them without spending too much money. So im just trying to keep it simple and fun. Been thinking about doing some small stuff to my lawnmower. I haven't started anything, but ill let you know when i do.
