Hey, new guy from TN here.   I'll give yall a little background on me.
My name is Dan, I've been a lurker at Heymow for a while now, which is where I found you ATLM guys.
My mowchine was built quite a few years back, and has been changed here and there just about every year since.   I was one of the dumb kids who seen lawnmower racing on TV and decided I just had to do that.   The problem I ran into was there were no organized racers where I lived (Western NY)   After building my mowchine and working out the stupid factor, I decided that a go anywhere kinda fast tractor is what I wanted.  So this tractor has been running around trails and fields for almost 10 years now, and up til a month or so ago was still going strong.  The tired Briggs finally gave up the ghost (this wasn't the first engine that died).
My point in joining here is I am planning on another build, of a different chassis and I figured when I get to that point I can bounce some ideas off the wall and get some feedback.
Thanks

Just because you move up in a class doesn't mean that you'll "loose" the "race", it just means that you're building a better, more capable machine.

Well, I plan on using the K.I.S.S. theory... Keep It Simple Stupid.   First thoughts are on a mud/fun machine.
Looking for something to mount a flathead single cyl Briggs on (parts are cheap and plentiful).  I haven't decided yet if I want to run a Peerless 820 transaxle or go with a 4 or 5 speed tranny and a cart axle.   I'm leaning towards the tranny and axle for ease of brake set-up and better ground clearance.
I haven't decided on a chassis yet... nothing has really jumped out at me.  I've been gathering parts so when I do run into something that feels right I will be able to start right in.
Time will tell, and I'll be sure to keep posted... in the meantime I'll prolly throw a couple of pics of my current tractor on here.
