Hi all,

A little about myself.

Im 32 married and have 2 kids.    I have been laid off for over a year now, currently going to college full time for my Associates Degree in CAD.  To make extra money I collect scrap, in my collections I often come across lawn mowers that people are throwing away.   I currently have 4 that I am working on.

1 that is my primary grass cutting machine,  this wont get modified until the deck wears out.

I just got a `99 Dynamark,  the front wheel broke off of it but the engine runs fine,  its a 12hp  Briggs.   I plan to modify this machine to go threw the woods.   My parents have 10 acres of wooden land that I can ride on.

I have a 10hp rear engine craftsman that I let my kids ride around on in the yard.   Its stable and slow for them.   Good machine for them to learn on.

My last machine is my workhorse,   Its a 1965 Case Model 130 Garden Tractor.   I'm gonna refurbish this one to pull my wagon, plow snow and push dirt.

Im gonna lean on the experience here to help me modify my dynamark,  I want to put some good breaks on it and just make it dependable to drive thru the woods,  not a speed demon,  looking for more torque then speed.

Anyway, thats enough for now,  I will post pictures as I get them.

Chris

I sure hope this isn't a dead forum.   There aren't many forums out there dedicated to this type of thing.  All the posts I read it looks like only 3 or 5 active users.

Thanks,   I was hoping that somebody would be around in here but it doesnt look that way.   I need at least 5 replies to do anything else in here.   This could take months.

Hey welcome to the forum. It has been slow here but I check for new posts regularly. Is the Dynamark a MTD vari-drive or does it have a real transaxle?  For driving in the woods I would definatly take the deck off and make some kind of belt guard.  Add some knobby tires the the rear and it should be able to go nearly anywhere.

Its got the vari drive under it.    The deck is defiantly coming off, need the ground clearance.    As for the belts,  Im gonna to some work with pulleys and such.  Gonna gear it down so I have the torque to climb some of the hills where Im gonna ride.    I just found an idea for a mechanical break system.  Hopefully I can start working on it soon.
