My friend had the tires on his 4-wheeler backwards. His thinking was "If I get stuck going forward, I can always back out of it"

Just because you move up in a class doesn't mean that you'll "loose" the "race", it just means that you're building a better, more capable machine.

If this works out I'm going to do one up with tracks made the same way Howe and Howe does theirs.
Metal tracks held together with cable. I tend to like tracks if you can't tell

Well an update:
Can't get it to turn even with the hydraulic brakes. Any Ideas?

What's happening, the drive overpowering the brakes?

Seems as if the rear goes posi as soon as you hit the brakes. I'm woundering if Cub had some type of locker in those Hydro rears?

I know mine sure doesn't. I can't even mow my lawn without tearing up the grass with a spinning wheel when taking a corner. Have you tried holding the brake on one side, and then putting it in gear to see if it turns?

Yea I tried that and it will do a 1/4 turn then it stops turning and goes straight. I hooked it up to a pick up truck and pulled it, up a hill about 33° It would not spin either track nor would it even try to turn.

The only thing I could suggest it putting it up on jackstands so the tracks are completely off the ground and seeing what it does. After that, you might have to tear into the transaxle and see if it has a lunchbox locker. Since it's more of a garden tractor it very well might.

Update.... Even on jack stands it will only try to turn approx 1/8 - 1/4 turn then the rear end locks posi.... So it seems a tear down is in order for the rear.... Not a big deal if it won't work, I have a plan on how to use a 3 speed high lower rear do make my TrakMo work. TJ
