Hey guys.
I am Jon Lewman, most know me as Rooster.
President and founding member of American Heartland lawn Mower Racers, a USLMRA Affiliated Club in the SE KS are, racing in Kansas, Oklahoma and Missouri.
Been wanting to build an off roader and maybe getting some trail riding going on around here.
Can't wait to see ya'll around the boards and get me a Trail Cruiser going.

Got a ton of questions, but I'll do alot of reading first, lol. Guess I'm gonna have to ask some to get to rest of forum, lol. Love the way you guys make us read the rules and limit privileges for newbies, keeps he hacks out twothumbsup

Seen a few posts on here referring to competitions and such, most of which were old, any of this happening?

Hey, welcome to the forum.

Not much on the competitions, a while back we did a bit of "house cleaning" and a bunch of active members got the boot. Hopefully we'll have something going on in the future, but there actually aren't many members that have completed projects.

Just because you move up in a class doesn't mean that you'll "loose" the "race", it just means that you're building a better, more capable machine.

I like the idea of a hydro unit which outputs into a seperate gearbox for smooth accel and decel. I'm gonna start putting stuff aside to try this out cheaply.

Yeah, I have been reading through the rule stuff and I see a banned member or two that seemed to be pretty active. Too bad they couldn't follow the rules. I won't be completing a project quickly, I just wanna learn how to build a capable and safe mowchine. I have no equity for an ATV, plus this will be more interesting and I will learn stuff.

Oh, sorry didn't mean to hijack the thread. Welcome Rooster, I am a new guy too, from PA.
