Well finally got this mower for a permant off-road mower.... We found a rear engine snapper that is going to be our race mower!  Started out with the stock frame....   I then went to cut out patch panels to fill in the old front axle mounting location and add strength... As you can see it was too small so I ended up cutting out a big panel and just welding it in...  Heres the new biger patch panel that just is mocked up in place...    Once those were mocked up I took the frame and washed all the grease off with purple power wash and then wire wheeled the hole frame of all the old paint... On this frame I am going to spray it with Dupli-Color Bed liner spray... One of the guys that runs with me used this stuff on his frame and it is tuff stuff! Doesnt chip, crack, peel, or dis-color.. A little bit more done today...    Put the frae on a dolley and it was perfect for the transaxle... It slid right up to the transaxle mounts and I was able to bolt it right in without any heavy lifting. Also bolted on the 6 Inch Pulley and slid the hubs on as far as they could go. They have some rust in them and I need a flap wheel to run through them.  Also finished welding in the Patch Panels in the front... Thats about it for today and tomorrow.... More updates today...   Finally got the Brake Caliper mount welded into place this morning...   After that I took the frame around back and painted the frame and some MISC. peices and part with the Dupli-Color truck bed liner spray from Harbor Freight Tools... Then started to Re-Assemble everything with Grade 8 bolts and hardware...   Last as you can see with the 5 speed axle conversion I did in my 3 speed transaxle the hubs fit using both shaft locks on each side of the hub too plus a 1/2 - 1 inch of extra room... Updates!   Started off by getting the caliper mounted and spaced out properly with good clearence between the pads on each side.  Next I picked up some Stainless Steel brake line from the advance auto parts.    Next I started to run the first brake line...      I then got the second brake line run... After all that I took some pictures to show under the mower and where the lines run. As you can see the one brake line that hangs WAY TOO LOW will have to be replaced before I begin to ride. Will bring more work on Friday! Later, Tyler

Some more (But Small) Updates...  Belt guard welded in...   And last but not least I got the wiring and the fenders on... It was a bit of a challenge to get the fenders put on but I managed to find the correct location on the fenders and get the steel brake lines run through... More to come... Tyler

More updates!!!  First off I got the engine assebled with new rings...  Next I set it on the engine but forgot the engine tins so had to attach those!  Still have to ajust the timing before I set the fan shroud on...   Next I moved onto the wiring and made a "harness" with some tie wraps and black tape. Also finished all the wiring.    Last I am still desciding if I want to use the stock muffler or make a new style flange and make a sot of "custom" exhaust. Also sorry for the lack of updates I ot a new project on my hands which is a 1972 Super Bug and it is my sort of "hot Rod". More to come... Tyler

The LTV Series lawn tractors have a side mount engine like this...SO yes this is the stock way the engine was placed in the tractor from the factory.

Well I have some more updates- I have a custom Intake and exhaust piece built- Intake-       Exhaust- (I just took a kohler piece and drilled out the correct pattern for it)-   There is a whole lot more work done but, I do not have pictures or anything of it. As far as I can tell you is that- Belt and pulleys done brake system bleed and done wiring and electrical done Engine RUNS! Safety kill switches done CONS- Gas Pedal / Lever not done MISC. Springs and other not done new cleated tires not done Still alot to go or at least it seems like it- Will get some more pictures later. Tyler

Chris, Wait until you see the insane size tires and rims I am going to shove under the fenders of this tractor!
26x12x12's...! Hopefully get my metal shipment in this week and begin the first stage of building! But until then the current hubs 4x4 Pattern will stay on. I totally forgot about the set of rims and tires I have. So now I have a lathe is a perfect time to make some custom stuff!
