Im pretty well broke for the month myself. Trying to sell some projects that i really dont want (like my '82 Z82 camaro) so i can have some extra cash to play with. I looked around at the local Rural King the other day and discovered that i can buy everything i need locally cheaper than i can else where.

            Hi again Phil,

Wish you luck in selling that car.     I have a feeling that there are many people in the same boat right now.     I also feel things will change shortly after the elections.     I  know that does not help right now but do not let it get you down.    I have two Vans that get eighteen mpg  and my little junk car - - - - - an  old datsun that gets forty  miles in town  and fifty-one plus on the open road in fifth gear,    Guess which one gets the miles now ? bigsmile

Try to hang in there - - - - things will change soon.

                   Have a good one,                         Norman

Would love you have your little datsun. I am on the look for a small 5 speed car myself. Probably looking into a Geo Metro. Both our vehicles get decent  MPG (the pickup at 18 town and 28 hwy and our station wagon at 21 town). But i really want the feel of selecting my gears manually.

Good Day Norman

Hey  Phil,     Hope your day goes well for you,

I  am with you about having  GEARS to change.     Those two Vans  I  have are  ho -  hum to drive.   NOW - - - THAT little  Datsun is a whole different story.     I  drive it  - - - - -the Vans  I  ride.   BIG  DIFFERENCE.     bigsmile    Even the  ATV  - - - - while being an off brand - - - I  made sure it had  GEARS before  I  bought it.        MUST be a  - - - man- thing.    bigsmile

      Take care, -  - -Norman

Hey if you want to talk about gas mileage, my pickup gets 5MPG with my good tires on it.

I'm currently driving around with the stock tires, that are so small the truck looks retarded - but I can't afford the gas at 5MPG since I'm using it so much when moving.

I find myself driving my car much more often than my truck these days.

Just because you move up in a class doesn't mean that you'll "loose" the "race", it just means that you're building a better, more capable machine.

Before my chrysler 300 I drove a jeep 5 inches of lift with all the upgrades and i got 11.9mpg from a 4.0 6cyl. Now with the 07 chrysler 300 i get 24-26 mpg. I like the comfort but hate not having awd/4wd

my little s-10 gets 21 mpg,  that little 4cyl 5sp winds out ok though, when I get my next car (probably a hand me down Equinox from the wifey) I'll be dropping a 4.3, 5.0, or 5.7 in it. as I won't be a slave to the fuel economy, the equinox with its 6 speed auto trans and 3.4v6 gets 26 hwy, 24 city, real time mileage... my old explorer got 17 before I went to 31's,  then it went to 15.
