Hey Guys, here's hoping that your weekend goes well for you.

I just have a basic question to ask  - - - -  This  ATV  I  have - - -  it has a 6- 1/2 inch fan in front of the engine.  I rode the ATV the other day up a very steep grade  [ A mountain]  and forgot to turn the fan on.   Nothing happened and the motor didn't seem to be overheating.     On another  "run"  I turned the fan on after 15 or so min  and the motor started running like it was cold so I  "choked"  it some and it ran OK.     I turned off the fan and after a few min - -  I un-choked it and it ran alright.

My question is  - - - -  WHY THE FAN ?       Perhaps it's just for sitting   with the motor running for a long time ?      Your input on this  ? ? ?

It is odd for any machine with an air cooled engine to have a fan. Furthermore its odd for that fan to be operated manually by the rider. I would think, since the ATV ran cold after having it on, that the fan would be for those days that are extremely hot OR if you are running the ATV to its limits for a long period of time.

Hi Phil,     Here's wishing that your day goes well for you.

My thoughts exactly.   Just another "gimmick" to mess-up.      That "fan" made me scratch my head for awhile.   I have another question , but will put it under a different topic.    There's so much for me to learn about this ATV .       It's giving me ideas about how to add some features to my mower soon - - -  soon as I get the time   bigsmile

      Appreciate your help,                 Norman

A fan on an air cooled ATV engine? That's a first for me.

Norman, do you have any pictures of this thing you can show us?

       Just a caveman   - - - - -  sorry,  BUT I'LL keep trying.   [  there's no "give up " in me ]    bigsmile

Norman, I noticed you have an account using our uploader (www.offroadmowers.com/uploader) your best bet is to upload the pictures using that, and then post them here on the forum.

I have step-by-step instructions on how to use The Uploader here: http://www.atlma.us/index.php?topic=219.0
