Sounds like you have it connected correctly but you either dont have enough power in your battery or the selonoid is just bad. You starter might be frozen as well.

Yeah I know the starter is not frozen because I touched it directly to the battery cable just to see if that was the problem....

I have a volt meter connected to the battery in my dash and its reading a little over 12 volts....

IDK I am gonna mess with it some more today and see if I can get it..

OK messed with the wiring again this morning and well no Luck!... Checked it with one of those test lights that you touch all your connections with and it told me that everything had fire.

SO heres what I am gonna do I tore out ALL the switches and wiring and I am gonna re-do it when all my other parts come in the mail.

It really sounds like a bad solenoid to me.

Yeah that might be a bad solenoid....

ALTHOUGH.....

I have the same problem on my grass cutter, and EVERYTHING checks out 100%!! I've checked all safety switches, replaced components (just for kicks) and the darn thing still won't start. I resorted to starting it with the jumper cable on the starter trick.

Just because you move up in a class doesn't mean that you'll "loose" the "race", it just means that you're building a better, more capable machine.

Hey Guys,    Just a thought - - -  could it be the small plastic gear on the starter ? ? ?

I  hate to see a problem that  is not found - - -  That's the one that can   "put you down "   out in the middle of nowhere.    Keep us posted if you find the problem.     I carry extra "gears" in my tool box just for that .    Never did trust plastic gears.

      Take care   -- - -  Norman
