Welcome to the forum. I merged both of your topics, no need for multiple intro threads

Just because you move up in a class doesn't mean that you'll "loose" the "race", it just means that you're building a better, more capable machine.

Basically anything without a hydro.

well he can use a hydro for a hunting mower as long as he isn't planning on going any faster than 10 mph. I would love to get my hands on a hydro and try gearing the output, clean shifts on the fly would be sooooooo nice. would either work great or get replaced!

you may actually want to make a "game trailer" of some sort, paint it camo as well, where my buggy goes, you don't want to be dead weight dragging things. just a thought.

Can you run a 12 volt 2000 lb winch off of a lawn tractor ? Or are you talking about a hand crank one?

You could use small yard cart to pull behind the hunting mower. It would be small enough you could get it in to tight places. Maby hinge the sides and attach cables to hold them level for hauling bigger game.
