Putting my 12 hp Briggs back together this morning and looked at the cam and it seemed not to have much lift/duration.... I was possibly thinking that a 14.5 Briggs OHV would have more duration then a 12 Flatty confused question ? I wasnt sure if of this because I know kohler k-series they use a 18 hp OHV kohler can because it has more duartion... Its just a thought and if it did I think it would give the engine a little more power and help get up trail a little better.

will the flatty even fit the OHV or vice versa??

sounds like a neat idea.

go to harbor freight and for like $30 you can get digital calipers, then you'll know the answer about the duration.

Speeddemon,
8 and 10's dont interchange because the cams are diffrent sizes.... The 8's have smaller cams and the 10 interchange with 11 &12 hp FLATTY's.

Ryf,
I have all the dial calipers but I dont have a OHV cam thats why I asked first before going through all the effort...
