WOW! What a deal! I picked this tractor up from craigslist today! I picked up the mower ( all ready drilled for a live axle ) , Foote 4010 2 speed transaxle , peerless 739 transmission , 10 hp in a box (dissembled) , and a few odds and ends that he was going to put on the tractor..... I assume he was building a racer but not sure...?I also got a set of 18x8.50-9....

heres a few pics--

I didn't think it was too bad of a deal for $150 ? These pictures are from the craigslist add.... I would of put the link up to the add but the add ran out of time yesterday and was deleted...  noplease

Personally I think $150 is a bit much for a non-running disassembled mower....

But then again I got the Toro for $30 and the Wizard for free...

Just because you move up in a class doesn't mean that you'll "loose" the "race", it just means that you're building a better, more capable machine.

well he  he did get 2 tranny's, a chassis and the tires for less than it would cost piece by piece, I'd say if its not a good deal, its definitely not a bad one!

Chris,
I dont know..... Myabe I deleted them in my photobucket acount by accident when I was deleting other pics? I'll have to check and see..

question Chris,
In the rules it doesnt quite state whether you have to have the hood on, Do you need to keep the hood on at all times? Or can you not remove sheet metal? Also I was looking around about brakes any idea on what to use besides stock? I know you cant use the stock ones but I cant find an alternative anywhere? I was thinking some sort of disc brake but I dont think they make a 3/4 inch disc brake? All of its a bit confusing but I will figure it out I hope.  roll doh ...

Mowers must retain all factory body hardware, but may be discreetly trimmed for clearance. I don't see a problem trimming/modifying sheet metal for tire/snorkel/engine upgrades, etc.

For the on-axle brake upgrades, do a search for go-kart brakes. On my Toro I have an upgraded 1" axle (I use to have 3/4 but bent it like a pretzel) and I'm using a go-kart disc brake and hub, and I have a master cyl & caliper from a banshee quad. Of course my mowchine is still in a million pieces, but you can see the disc and hub in my build thread at the end.
