starting point minus mower gear

I 'm in the process of building my "normal" race tractor, and was bummed that I couldn't use a mower that I had acquired (John Deere R72 that had been stripped of all mower stuff) And then I saw what you guys were doing to to rear engine mowers. So needless to say, I'm now doing a ATLM as well.
 My thoughts were to set it up w/ a wrecker trailer so if I want to go on the trail I won't have the boom.
I've been thinking also about the alternator setup posted here, you also might look for an alternator from a small import (I used to have a gold wing and there is a set of plans that does that off the crank of the wing) same idea.
 I'm in the bootheel area of Missouri.

Welcome to the ATLMA!

This idea of a wrecker trailer - you should draw up a quick sketch of what you're thinking about designing, I'm interested in seeing if it would work properly.
