This is my woods buggy I am building.Been working on it for about a month now.

Fuel injected 3800 V-6 Domestic power! See the poor old donor Delta 88 in the background above. omg

This is how my chopper started out.

This is how it ended up. I love this thing.

Since this is off topic....Let's see some of your all's junk projects.

NIce woods buggy.You should put floor boards in that thing.Also that chopper is sweet...How did you turn that hunk of junk into such a nice chopper?

Man, that buggy has a bigger engine than both my truck and my car!!!

Why no front suspension?

It has a 196? VW front end. It is a torsion bar front end. Very good.... The two sides work independantly of each other. I just don't have the front shocks mounted yet. The rear suspension on the buggy is the FRONT suspension off of the car.Two struts with coil over springs. Also independent. Thats 4-wheel independant suspension, Rack and pinion power steering, Disc brakes,and liquid cooled engine,for creeping through the woods. I still have to get the offroad tires, and finish the frame.... alot of bracing and a roof. I have the car tires on it now just so I can move it around. Should be a blast to drive. I can't wait.    Tom

Go for it Chris. I am building this from junk laying around the house(never throw anything away)!

The early frame.


The little welder that could. I think you have the same one Chris.

Another of the early frame.


This is what I started with....Engine, Trans,Front suspension, and front subframe out of Delta 88 FWD. Just jack the frame up on jackstands and build off of that. Make it up as you go along. Just be sure you have the entire wiring harness out of the car too.

That welder is awesome. Mine is about 4 years old. I never welded a day in my life till I got it.Taught myself by playing around and experimenting with stuff. Trial and error. I finally got comfortable enough to build that chopper. I bent the frame in a fork in a tree in my front yard! It is still holding up after several hundred miles this summer. Alot of your "old timer" welders kind of snurl their noses at flux core. I would recommend one to anybody.I love mine. Never had a weld break, not even some of my earlier ones. You can find these welders used for under 200.00. I have sold enough little home made projects to pay for mine.     Guess how much I have in the buggy right now.............................How about    Zero, Zilch, Nada! When I have to fix something for somebody I will usually do it for trade of some junk they have sitting in their yard that they want rid of anyway. VW front suspension= free  1 3/4" tubing= free for building small pull behind trailer.  and drivetrain came from car I drove for many years given to me by my dad. The real shot in the arm is going to come when I buy the tires, I am figuring on about 400.00.     OK guys let me see some of your projects.....good or bad, I love this crap!       Tom

Low cost flux / MIG welders finally brought quality welding to the masses in my opinion.

I can't come anywhere near the creativity and results you have. I've only built a couple chopper bicycles and the cart in my other thread.

One chopper is from an old mountain bike and a piece of exhaust tubing



The other out of misc pieces including exhaust pipe and some swing set pipe



And then the cart out of an old mower and some tubing. I used a borrowed tube bender though..  bigsmile

Otherwise it's just normal sheet metal replacement on my 69 Stang.

Looking at your stuff makes me want to go cut something else up though...  lol

Those bikes are cool. I always wanted to do a bicycle but the only bikes I have are fairly expensive mnt. bikes, don't want to cut them up yet. Maybe one of these days. Also I am very lazy and like to be propelled by a motor LOL.    Tom
