I got a 15 h.p 28 or 31ci b&s ohv motor.It looks and runs great.It has electronic fuel injection.This motor is stock and has very very low hours.It has tons of power.Would like $200.00 or best offer plus shipping.Will have pics as soon as I find my camera if I can find it.OH I forgot to mention if you wanted to do local pick up I live in lisbon falls ME,04252.Thanks

Ok the guy brought it back today and gave it back.He said it was worth what he paid but he cant figure out what he did to it so he gave it back.It is blowing oil out the air breather.And it had 80 psi of compression when i sold it to him and now it has 26 pounds.Still runs but i have it tore apart right now.Anyone know what may be wrong with it?The pushrods are strate and the valves are still in one piece so i am stumped.Could it be piston rings?Oh headgasket is good.thanks in advance for any help.

Rings..... could be, but the problem started so suddenly that it leads me to believe that it is something worse, like a busted/ burned piston. Maybe broken ring? Let us know and good luck with that. Tom PS.....When my grass cutter gets on a hill sideways the oil level goes above the crank case breather which is piped into the bottom of the breather. Really big smoke screen till it clears out. But that doesn't explain your loss of compression.???  |

Yeah you might wanna replace the rings..... A new head gasket and a new crankcase gasket never hurts.....

Yea I will replace the rings and head gasket.You are right it cant hurt it.And i got 175 for the motor and had it given back so I am not gunna complain one bit.And I have it apart the piston looks fine but the rings are worn out.But I dont get how he could wear out perfectly good rings in the 4 days he had it.OH and Tom it actualy shoots oil out the breather like a fuel pump would fuel.Pretty bad.I will let yall know what happens after I change the rings and headgasket. thanks for the help.

what about the breather gasket? Its sounds like to me that the compression was getting past the rings and pushing the oil some where and it was just comeing out the breather....

Ok I changed my piston rings and the headgasket and the breather gasket.I am going to fire it up tomorow so I will let you guys know how it goes.

Ok I havent been able to fire it up yet because it has been raining and I cant use the garage because we are redoing the cieling.So as soon as I get fired up I will let yall know how it runs.

Ok I fired it up today.And then checked the compression and it was 122 psi.So thats goood.But I hear a noise in the valvetrain.I think something might be wrong there.She has tons of power though.So should i worry bout the little tick in the top end or not?

It basicaly sounds like a pen tapping on a desk.Its not very loud at all.And one more thing my starter is now having a hard time turning this beast over because of the compression.What can I do about that?I cant afford one of the hd starts right now so.
