O.K. .........
Well got my pulley ordered for my engine...... No all I need to do is get my engine together and my cleated tires along with a belt and we are cooking. But anyway, I noticed while going through the box of parts that I only had a coil. But I didnt have any points, Does this matter do I have to have point or do I just need my coil? Also in the rules it sates that you must have a charging system or a battery connected for the lights only. Does anyone have a diagram on how to hook up the charging system? where do I need to hook it to? Where do the wires go?

Thanks

You only need points if you are using a points engine and points coil. Those are only on older engines. All the newer engine have an electronic coil that does away with the points, which is probably what you have.

Some charging systems have 2 wires, other have 1. On the 2 wire system, one wire is a charging wire and the other is for lights and other things. Follow this pic:

That should help you out with your wiring, if you dont have 2 wires, then the one wire is a chraging wire.

I reject your reality, and substitute my own.

If it is an older block that uses points you can swap the points style coil for a magnetron type from a newer engine.  Then there will be no issues of adjusting, cleaning and burning points.
