I guess that title got your attention. bigsmile  I will be trying my homemade hubs on my build so I can use any type of tire and wheel combo I want.Every mower I have ever gotten free or otherwise, had a set if rims on it. You can transfer these wheels into hubs like this.......... Same goes for the front wheels.

Old wheel, one of many

Cut the rim part of it off, leaving the center intact.

I left part of the rim on the back for strength
Now I just have to drill holes and I can steal and mount the tires and rims from my ATV.  I will probably end up welding the bolts in for lug bolts. omg

When drilling your lug holes, be very careful to get everything so it will be centered when the wheel is bolted on. Very good idea you have here, and if it works (and is strong enough) i can see many members using this tip.

yea, that is the tricky part, getting it centered. I am going to make a cardboard template of the boltpattern to help me get it centered before I drill.  Even if I do get it a little off, at the slow speeds I plan on traveling on my atlm,I don't think it will be that noticable. We'll see. lol

You could take your hub you made and just center it in a rim with the bolt pattern you want. Then mark and drill.

A little wobble on a 20mph offroader is not going to hurt anything. Now on my 100 mph mower it will have to be perfect! omg Don't ask because it is dangerous and stupid and I won't get into that here. eyebrow

I meant not to ask about the 100mph lawn mower.....This particular mower is stupid and dangerous. Not anything you said. Please forgive for the misunderstanding. I will try to be more clear next time. smile

I'm going to be doing something similar on the rims I have for the toro, unless I can find some 4x4's really cheap really soon...
