I will NEVER BE SHOPPING THERE EVER AGAIN!!!

Okay, so here's the deal... About two months ago I purchased an R/C Hummer from RadioShack. It didn't come with batteries, so I had to purchase some batteries and a charger. It ended up coming in a just a little under $200 (batteries and charger were like $75 IIRC). Well, the first day i had the truck it broke. It would just shudder really badly and not move. It had a defective relay that needed replacement. I went to RadioShack to purchase the relay so I could solder it onto the PCB myself, but they wanted me to send it in for warranty repair (which I didn't want to). I ended up sending it in for warranty repair anyway, telling them the exact problem and what component was defective and in need of replacement. I received the truck back a week later, and they replaced the freaking battery connector. The service sheet said that they tested it and the truck worked fine. knowing full well that the DID NOT test it, I brought it home and plugged in my battery. Low and behold the truck didn't move but just shuddered. Annoyed, I went back to RadioShack the next day, and told them to MAKE SURE that they replaced the relay. I checked my status online about two weeks ago, and it said that the truck was in for repair. I sent them an eMail explaining the problem again and telling them to replace the faulty relay, but never heard back from them. Well, it's been over a month and I haven't heard back from them, so I checked my status online and it shows that on 6/6/07 it was shipped back to my local RadioShack. I never got a call from them, so I was slightly annoyed that it was sitting at the store for two weeks. I went down to pick up my truck and they couldn't find it, so they called the service center.

Apparently the service center thought that it was a "waste of resources" to repair the truck, AND SCRAPPED IT. They did NOT ask permission by me (THE LEGAL FREAKING OWNER) to scrap the truck, but they did anyway. Now that I was throughly pissed off, I asked the guy there what RadioShack was going to do to reimburse me for the truck. I explained to him that I paid almost $200 for the truck and batteries, and I either wanted the truck back, or a full refund. He told me since it was under warranty, that I was going to get no refund because RadioShack doesn't issue refunds on defective items, and the truck has already been scrapped so there was nothing I can do.

WHAT THE F*K is up with that!?!?!? I'm EXTREMELY pissed off at RadioShack right now, I've been looking online to see if I can find the District Manager's contact info, because he's going to get one hell of a bitchfest from me!!! As of right now I would no longer be happy with a full refund; I want my truck back AND a full refund for the freaking trouble that their crappy business practices have caused. I bought the truck on my debit card, so I'm also going to take this issue up with my bank and see if they'll do anything about it.

I was going to make a website dedicated to this, but one of those domain stealing companies already has radioshacksucks.com

Regardless, right now I'm one VERY pissed off person.

Just because you move up in a class doesn't mean that you'll "loose" the "race", it just means that you're building a better, more capable machine.

sounds like theft to me... they are responsible for replacement cost, or a new truck of equal or greater value, or else I'd call the cops and report they stole it, because they did.

your not getting money+truck. but a new truck or the money would be reasonable.

you should ask if you inspected another truck, said its faulty and walked out of the store and did not return it or pay for it, would they be calling the cops on you? hell yeah they would. its no different IMO. my guess is they lost it, and are making crap up to get out of replacing it.

I am with you on tracking down a district manager, even if you have to go to another store to get the info! and I'd start calling it theft to anyone you are talking to about it. go in the store when theres other customers and start talking about it as loudly as possible, without threats of course.... might not fix it, but will keep others from buyng there. 2 or 3 times of that will make it worth fixing it.
