Which is why I have been absent lately.

Bought an '87 GMC S15 4WD pickup. I had the "go big or go home" motto while searching for a truck, hence why I was looking at suburbans, crew cab duallys, etc... But I saw the S15 and visualized it as what I wanted it to be, and ended up buying it. It's not mint, not nearly.. but it's well on it's way to being a bad offroad machine! I've already put $1200 into it with new brakes all the way around, some new parts here and there, and a new cd/mp3 player (the one in there would shut off whenever you hit a bump or pressed a button). I ordered some new tires and rims for it ($800 later!!!!), and am looking for a 2" lift in the front (the guy before me lifted the rear and not the front). I busted a rear leaf spring and something in the front suspension because I got a little overzealous with it being nearly stock and all lol I've Already got a bunch of goodies for it, and can't wait to get it finished. I'm REALLY hoping to get both the truck & toro finished for the upcoming 4WD Jamboree in Essex, VT!

If any of you know anyone that has 1st generation (82-93) Chevy S10/GMC S15/Blazer/jimmy parts - Let me know!!! I'm looking for a bunch of stuff. Cheap/Free would be great, as I have almost $2,000 into this truck already, and it needs allot more!

Things I'm looking for:

** Roll bar or roof-mounted light bar. I want to be able to mount my offroad lights on something.

** Rust-free rear bed. My mounts rotted off and my bed is just flopping around. I believe it's a long bed, but I haven't seen my truck in a while so I may be wrong.

** Rear leaf springs (I broke one being a little overzealous)

** Doors!! Mine have rotted at the bottom. I'd love to get some with power windows, I'm sick of manual windows!!!

** Rear bumper (Yet another rotted part!!)

** Early 80's gauge cluster (the round gauges)

MAKE IT..you can weld can't ya?
again... why pay when you can get cool for less, make a front one with grill guard too, if you go with square, make sure you do 2 45 degree turns or 3 30's instead of a 90 on the roll bar at the top. if you make it yourself from the same materials, it will "theme" well and look good too. if you want a "light bar" you can get those pretty cheap sometimes, but they won't save your butt in a roll-over. some people incorporate a tow reciever into the rear bumber, DO NOT DO THIS if you plan on renting a trailer, it probably won't fly with uhaul, or they will only let you rent "bumper" rating trailers.  I'm only posting links to this so people who want to see the bumpers will see them, they are large pics, and they are on another sites server, so I didn't think steeling a bunch of bandwidth from them was cool every time someone loads the page.

I was thinking about making a custom skidplate, slider bars/steps, front & rear bumpers & a light bar... The materials are really expensive though, now that I don't have any hookups that can get me stuff like that for free... As of right now it's just fix, fix, fix... Got a new exhaust welded up and installed yesterday. It's 2 1/2" from the cat back; no muffler. Left the tailpipe sections removable so I can stuff a glasspack on when it's inspection time :-D

None of those pirate4x4 picture links work, but i browsed their site and they have some pretty good stuff. I've started fabrication on a light bar for the roof, just have to figure out how I'm going to mount it. Most of them mount to the rain gutters, which I'd like to replicate.

This truck has sucked up about 99% of my free time, thus why my presence on here and mowbetter is not exactly great.

Oh, and now I want a Ramsey winch
